We're always on the hunt for unique ways to attract players to local gaming establishments, so we were thrilled to feature Zen's Gaming Chalet in Troy, IL on the blog today. Owner Michelle Malter attributes Zen's success to making connections with customers, knowing their likes and dislikes, and being able to provide a comfortable place to spend their time. We chatted with Michelle to find out more about Zen's success.
When did you open your business and how did you come up with the idea/theme?
Michelle: Zen’s Gaming Chalet opened in March 2016. I’ve been in businesses for myself for 33 years and have been very successful because I make my clients feel comfortable and I know them personally. People do not have to visit your establishment - they can go anywhere, but I want them to feel special and give them a unique environment and attention.
You’ve come up with some really unique ideas to delight your patrons! What inspired you? What do you offer to customers that sets you apart from your competitors?
Michelle: What inspired me is when I visited many cafe locations and found there was little thought for their guests/patrons, such as ambiance, cleanliness, and very little to choose from as far as drinks and snacks/ food. Plus, they were not friendly. Needless to say, I set out to set Zen’s Gaming Chalet apart from the rest. I feel I’ve done so in the manner of offering essential oils infused in the air to help you breath with more ease, salt lamps and blocks everywhere you look to help pick the energy up in the body. We are very welcoming to all our guests. My goal is to have the best cafe in our area for my guests!
Do you provide any food or beverages to your patrons?
Michelle: We have a wide variety of beer, wines, soft drinks, and great snacks and appetizers.
