This past weekend, on June 2nd, Accel employees participated in the Run the Ridge 5K and 1K Run/Walk. Run the Ridge was started by Suzanne M. Gray and Right Fit in 2004 with the goal of creating a race for everyone to compete in that would support the community and benefit a wonderful cause. All net proceeds raised from the race went to Charlie’s Gift Foundation, a fantastic organization that helps families with autism and related disorders. Run the Ridge also benefits the ProActive Kids Foundation, which helps aid in the development of children through physical, nutritional, and emotional commitment.
Many of our employees finished the race relatively quickly. This could have something to do with the pasta party that we hosted on the Friday before the big race. We made sure our participants were “carbed up” prior to the race so they would have as much energy as possible before competing.
Accel is committed to our employees’ health and wellness. Participating in the Run the Ridge was a great way to stay active and spend time with each other outside of the office while giving back to the community. We were thrilled that Accel raised the most funds and had the most participants compared to any other organization!
